Thanks to ride leader, Rosemary for this report.
Our Garden Delights Trail Ride (north of the river) held on Sunday 26 October was aptly named as everyone had a delightful time!
Thirteen cyclists meandered around the Geelong West Community Garden marvelling at the great array of vegetables grown interspersed with garden art before heading around to Rosemary’s compact garden, featuring cottage plants, fruit trees and mosaic art. Everyone was blown away with the inventive, quirky and inspiring garden created in Autumn Street by John and Rosie, and then mounted bikes to enjoy a pleasant ride along the Gabrielle Blythe, Tom McKean and Ted Wilson paths in northern Geelong. The last garden at Colin Mockett and Shirley Power’s place, which was open for the recent Sustainable House Day, had many energy saving devices which Colin was happy to explain to us. Refreshments at a nearby cafe capped off a great ride!
