Mid-Week bike riding

Cycling Geelong runs a weekly Thursday ride from Geelong to Drysdale via the Bellarine Rail Trail. See the ride calendar for more details.

During October (Seniors’ Month) there is a Wednesday series titled On Ya Bike! These begin with an easy ride, and become progressively longer.

Wheels on Wednesday – This group rides each Wednesday leaving at 8am.  The ride usually starts at either Rippleside Park or South Barwon Reserve.  (See the ride calendar for starting times and places.)  The ride length is usually between 60 and 90 kilometres, and includes a coffee stop.  This is a recreational ride with a medium pace.  The average is usually in the low 20s.  To find out more contact Helen.  While this ride is not affiliated with any club, it originated from  On ya Bike! (Cycling Geelong’s ride series each October for Seniors Month).

Some other options for mid-week riding:

Tuesday and Thursday:  Geelong Touring Cyclists hold regular rides each Tuesday and Thursday.  See the Geelong Touring Cyclists ride calendar for details.

Port Pedallers (a Portarlington group) hold rides each Friday, usually in the Portarlington region but with a monthly ride further afield.

Geelong Life Activities Club cycling group holds rides each Tuesday and Thursday.

Wheel Women Geelong run rides for women.  Details on the Wheel Women Geelong Facebook pace.

  1. Hi There,
Just wondering if you still do mid week riding? Am looking for people to ride with while I am still in Melbourne, I am here until the 10th Jan 2015. Your response would be much appreciated.

    • Hi Lisa
Yes. We’re still doing our Wednesday rides. This week (January 7th) we’re riding from Rippleside Park (North Geelong) at 8am. The route and distance are not yet decided but we usually ride 70km or so. (Rippleside Park is close to North Geelong station.) Helen
