Thanks to Maree for this report.
I was not able to lead the ride today due to injury, but Bill took over the ride leader duties for me.
This fine morning, 14 people started from Rippleside Park – 12 as in the group photo and Doug & Karen (in separate photos) because they arrived just after the main group was leaving.
I was at Rippleside Park at the start of the ride and handed out sprigs of rosemary in remembrance of Ted. It was the 10th anniversary of his death on 1st July.
The group rode north on the Bay Trail and picked up the Ted Wilson Trail at Broderick Road. Coffee was meant to be at Soft Cafe in Minerva Road but when the group arrived, the cafe could not accommodate the riders, as too many were already on the premises (COVID-19 restrictions striking again!) and we could not book in advance. By that stage, a few people had left the group at different points, so 11 people remained. Those 11 then rode to Raw Cafe in Geelong West. With the disruption caused by the change of location for coffee, people were happy to get their own way home from Pako – so a shorter ride than expected.
