Remembering Nancy (3 Nov 1944 - 20 Jan 2026)

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our Life Member, Nancy Jones. Through her dedication, friendship and many years of service to our club, Nancy made a lasting contribution that helped shape the welcoming community we enjoy today.

We pay tribute to a warm, friendly and highly respected member of Cycling Geelong. Nancy will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.

Nancy supported us over many years, attending committee meetings and hosting at her home, leading rides, and always being there.  She and David organised weekend rides down to Lorne over a number ofyears – always great fun, and so well organised.

Nancy and David were the people who drove the van around on the days of the long " Round the Bay" rides, when it came through St.Leonards. They had long hours and kept an eye on all our volunteers. Nancy was a lovey, kind generous hearted lady and will be missed by us, the old brigade!

Nancy has been  a valued member of Cycling Geelong for the past twenty four years. With husband David she has served on the committee, lead rides, organised and managed weekend excursions, and in these she has enjoyed cycling and  passed on to others that love. Self conducted cycle tours overseas with David have enriched her cycling enthusiasm. In all this Nancy’s quiet support of all activities have knitted the club members together, and made it what it is today, a thoughtful and caring society. She has been a central figure in this, to the front, in the middle and to the sides. She has been superbly capable  and gently and confidently supportive, a well roundedcyclist, a well rounded person. Nancy’s presence has meant Cycling Geelong not only survives, it flourishes. We support her talents and her legacy.
