In 1999, a group of enthusiastic cyclists formed Cycling Geelong, with the aim of providing Geelong cyclists and those curious about cycling with a recreational cycling group. The Club was incorporated in 2002 and has continued to evolve and proudly serve our cycling community for over 20 years. Cycling Geelong welcomes people from all backgrounds and any level of cycling experience to join us.
We ride several days of the week over varying lengths and terrains, catering for a range of fitness levels and cycling experience, suitable to all types of bikes (including E-bikes) and their riders. Rides are not confined to Geelong and Bellarine with rides around Melbourne, Victoria’s High Country and various rail trails frequently organised. We encourage everyone to get out and about and enjoy all that cycling has to offer. Our rides are “No Drop” rides, meaning nobody is left behind. Rides are detailed in our club calendar.
Cycling Geelong has a strong sense of community. In late 2017, we were proud to partner with MACS (now Cultura) and Geelong Sustainability to establish a “Cycling Without Age” program to bring the joy of cycling to the aged and infirm. The program has continued to thrive with several club members continuing to volunteer regularly to pilot the Danish-built Triobikes carrying Cultura residents to the Geelong Waterfront.
We welcome diversity in our membership and extend an open invitation to anyone to connect with us and come along and try out one of our rides. We are sure you will enjoy the experience!
