Thanks to Geoff for this report on their trip to Adelaide to enjoy and volunteer for the Tour Down Under.
Whilst working at The Tour Down Under we took time out to visit the Tour Village outside the Hilton where we met many of our cycling friends from NSW & Vic before the Teams were introduced on a balmy evening
We took advantage of a few cooler mornings to ride as extreme temps were predicted.
We took the river path to ride to Glenelg and back which is a mecca for all cyclists visiting Adelaide to enjoy a coffee by the sea.
We set our selves to challenge to climb the Crafers cycle path towards Mt.Barker in the Adelaide Hills along with hundreds of cyclists going up and down. The path is a very steep tarred climb for 9 kms but we got there grinding away on our small rings of our mountain bikes!
Our visit ended on the Sunday night watching the exciting Criterium Races in 5he inner city along with 90,000 others.
Cloe Hoskins and Peter Sagan were the winners. The overall Womens Champion was the Amazing Amanda Spratt, our long time friend from Penrith N.S.W.
