Alex led only 10 cyclists on this morning’s ride. It was presumed that, if you’re a regular rider, and you didn’t show up, you were daunted by the fog – as we know there’s nothing better to do than a Cycling Geelong Saturday Barwon River bike ride.
Though the fog initially seemed to be lifting, but the time the intrepid pedalton approached Fyansford the clouds had descended and it was a scene reminiscent of England than sunny Geelong. Coffee has never been more welcome that that at the Barwon Edge.
Thanks to Alex for leading the ride. Saturday afternoon was earmarked for bike cleaning!
I note that as Barb, Dirk and I were riding home on the Ted Wilson Trail, we met Greg from GTC. It must have been a cold morning, as he said he’d ‘gone back to bed’ rather than meeting up with the other Saturday Touring riders.
A reminder that tomorrow is the joint ride with GTC – leaving South Geelong Station at 9am for 70km. Or, be part of cycling history and join Rod on a history ride to celebrate 200 years of cycling. This ride starts at Herne Parade (Park and Ride car park above Eastern Beach) at 9am.
