Stephanie and Geoff marked their return to winter in Geelong by leading today’s river circuit. There were at least 24 cyclists, with a couple meeting the ride along the way. Activity was very busy around the rowing precinct with many individual rowers launching their sculls.
Chatter included the Andrew’s trip – high prices and lack of service in the UK, and the world MTB championships in Czech Republic. There was also a big interest in last night’s ABC show “Tony Robinson’s Time Walk” which featured Geelong with a starring role to a club member and his wife. http://iview.abc.net.au/programs/tony-robinsons-time-walks/ZW0649A009S00
The link will only work for a fortnight of so from today!
At Queens Park the river was awash with hundreds of single sculls – some sort of major event. They were just about to set off as our group stopped at the bridge for a breather.
Thanks to Steph and Geoff for leading the ride and to all riders who make this such a successful event.
