A cycle or not a cycle: Flinders Ranges rail contraption

The attached photo was taken at the museum at the railway station in Quorn SA.  It is a single operator section car, used by a maintenance person to get out the track that needs attention.  Now a museum piece, it was moved by the operator pumping the handlebars back and forth.

We cyclists could argue for yonks whether or not this contraption fits into the broad family of cycles – but let’s not.  It’s just a curio.
