Marysville Recreation Ride – A volunteer’s perspective

Stephanie & I offered our services for  the Cycling Victoria Recreation Ride in Marysville over the week end of 19th -20th March.  As usual we were very well looked after  & greatly appreciated by  Jordan, Renee and other employees from CV.

Over the week end we helped position the signage on the Route, with Registration and were in charge of feeding and refueling about 350 hungry cyclists at The Lake Mountain Village, about   ..1368  metres high.  The Riders rode  73kms or 115kms  out and back from Marysville

It was a pleasure to look after them with fruit cake, bananas etc. following their 22kms climb!!!!  from Marysville in very cool conditions early ( 8C degrees ) with sunny blue skies.

We sent them down the very steep descent refreshed and satisfied with their terrific  efforts and achievement and thankfully no riding incidents considering the amount of tree bark & sticks on the course!
