Chain Gang is a new fundraising event encouraging fitness and participation. An overnight teams ride for both serious and relaxed riders, Chain Gang aims to raise funds for Cancer Support For Families Foundation (CSFF), who is committed to financially assisting local families in the fight against cancer.
A great community initiative
The Geelong Chain Gang will take place from 6pm Friday Nov. 14th to midday Saturday Nov. 15th at Belmont Island Criterium. The ride will cater for people of all cycling abilities including social groups, families, children and serious riders.
With teams encouraged to camp out on site, each Chain Gang will ride relay-style in the overnight event with specific skill challenges (including a midnight time trial) also taking place throughout the ride. A range of entertainment, activities and food options will also be available on site for participants and supporters.
Where will the money go?
Money raised from the Chain Gang Ride will go to help local families fight the costs associated with cancer. Did you know that 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer before age 85 and the average cost of fighting the disease is estimated to be well above $50,000? And, while survival rates are increasing, the financial burden of cancer can outlast the disease itself. Help us bridge the financial gap: enter your Chain Gang, fundraise, donate!
