Six riders set off bright and early from Leisurelink in Anakie Road – Kelly (leader), Allan (whip), Rick (leading from inside the pack), Karen, Helen and Neville. After a most enjoyable ride along the Ted Wilson Trail, they were met by John (who had misread the Ride Calendar) at the end of the trail. The course then took the highway to Werribee (a good 4 metre sealed shoulder all the way – but too much broken glass!). Coffee was welcome at the Werribee BP Service Centre – where the group competed for space with lots of families and a flotilla of Sunday bikies out for a spin.
The return journey was via the highway to Point Wilson Road, then along the side of Avalon Airfield back to Lara, across to Bacchus Marsh Road and back via the Ted Wilson Trail.
Allan reports that he was back before 1pm for his Father’s Day roast. There were two punctures – probably due to the amount of debris and broken glass on the highway.
