CoGG vote on bicycle funding on Tuesday: make your mark

Now is the time when a short email can have maximum effect to support cycling in our great city.

At Tuesday’s CoGG Council meeting, councillors will vote on funding for cycling infrastructure and the Principal Bicycle Network.  Please write to support generous funding.  Last March Bicycle Network published this comparison:

“Last financial year [2012-13]  [CoGG] council committed $7.63 per resident on bike related infrastructure. In comparison, the City of Melbourne spent on average $50.07.”  Surf Coast spent $20 per resident.

Geelong could ‘go platinum’ like Portland, Oregon where more than 6% of workers commute by bike.
