Sighted outside Geelong West Library. The shape of things to come if Geelong gets serious about cycling.
With a perfect climate, easy terrain, and most trips below 10 kilometres in distance, Geelong could become world’s best practice for cycling (as it was in the days of the first Bike Plan of 1981). Cycling is fun, sociable, easy, sustainable, and promotes fitness. Cycling can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Bikes can be taken on public transport for longer range trips. Cycling saves space, reduces pollution and has a negligible carbon footprint. Ten bikes can be parked in the space of one car.
